Why Seven Four Brand?
It’s really quite simple.
Back in 2022, when Seven Four was still an apparel brand, I was searching for a patriotic name I could build around. I landed on Seven Four because it’s a clean, memorable way of saying 7/4 — better known as July 4th, Independence Day.
Who am I?
Well, my name is Coleman Owenby. I’m a proud patriot, outdoorsman, firearms enthusiast, and gym rat, family man, animal lover, sports fanatic, foodie, and evidently have a voice like Sam Elliot. But more than any of those labels, I’m someone who loves educating others about the things I’m passionate about. At the time of this blog post, I run Seven Four completely solo. I am the CEO, CMO, Head Holster Builder/ Designer, Blogger, etc. When I say we are a small business, I mean me. This is a passion project for me, that I intend to scale and grow over time.
Whats my experience?
During college, I worked in firearms sales at Academy Sports + Outdoors. After graduation, I joined the team at On Target Sports, a local gun range in Orange Park, Florida. Those experiences taught me something important: I didn’t feel like I was “selling.” I was helping people find the right solution for their needs and giving them the confidence to make informed decisions.
That same desire to help and educate is what brought Seven Four back — this time as a holster company.
Why holsters?
The short answer is that it gave me a meaningful way to enter the 2A space. The longer answer is that most holster companies (and many gun shops) simply sell you a piece of Kydex and move on. I saw an opportunity — and a responsibility — to do more.
I want to educate customers on proper concealed carry, personal responsibility, and how to navigate the often intimidating world of firearms. Too many first-time buyers feel overwhelmed, much like someone walking into a gym for the first time. My goal is to remove that intimidation and replace it with confidence and knowledge.
What Seven Four Brand stands for:

• Creating high-quality, American-made gear while breaking down the taboos and misconceptions surrounding the Second Amendment.

Where are we gonna go?
We are going to become the 1st Phorm of Holsters. We will be the leading educator in the firearms industry, through our products, content, blogs, and other areas of service. We will offer simply the best products for the solution to our customers problems. We will do all of this, and give back our communities as well. We will provide the “Seven Four Standard” to our nation.
